• QUARTERBACK: Nathan PetermanPittsburgh
    • STATS: 22/37, 308 yds., 5 TDs, 0 INTs
    • ANALYSIS: Peterman’s 5 TD performance was a major factor in the Panthers’ 43-42 upset of the then #2 Clemson Tigers in Death Valley. In addition to receiving Conference Player-of-the-Week honors, Peterman was also named the Walter Camp Offensive Player of the week for his performance.
  • RUNNING BACK: James ConnerPittsburgh
    • STATS: 20 car., 132 yds., 1 TD; 3 rec., 57 yds., 1 TD
    • ANALYSIS: Between QB Nathan Peterman’s 5 TD passes, and James Conner’s 189 total yards and 2 TDs, Pittsburgh was able to expose a typically dominant Clemson defense. The most impressive stat behind Conner’s performance can’t be found on the stat sheet, however, but can be found on his medical records, as he has recently come off receiving chemotherapy treatments.
  • RECEIVER: Mike WilliamsClemson
    • STATS: 15 rec., 202 yds., 1 TD
    • ANALYSIS: Despite a heartbreaking 43-42 loss to Pittsburgh, Mike Williams had a performance that very well could solidify his status as a future 1st-round draft pick. His 15 receptions and 202 yards were both season highs for the Tigers.
  • OFFENSIVE LINEMAN: Parker BraunGeorgia Tech
    • STATS: 90% Grade, 10 Pancake Blocks, 1 Sack Allowed
    • ANALYSIS: Braun, a true freshman, was largely responsible for the Yellow Jackets’ rushing attack putting up 309 yards on the ground. Georgia Tech averaged 5.3 yards-per-carry during the team’s 30-20 upset over #18 Virginia Tech.
  • DEFENSIVE LINEMAN: Devonte FieldsLouisville
    • STATS: 9 tackles, 4 TFL, 3 sacks, 1 QB pressure
    • ANALYSIS: Despite being down 12-0 late in the 2nd quarter, Devonte Fields terrorized the Wake Forest backfield in the 2nd half, helping the Cardinals surge to a 44-12 victory over the Demon Deacons. Fields’ 4 tackles-for-loss and 3 sacks were season-highs in those categories.


  • LINEBACKER: Joe Giles-HarrisDuke
    • STATS: 16 tackles, 1 TFL, 2 QB Pressures
    • ANALYSIS: Giles-Harris recorded a season-high 16 tackles in the Blue Devils’ 28-27 upset over #15 UNC, including one for loss. His constant pressure on UNC QB Mitch Trubisky helped limit the Tar Heels to just 6 points in the 2nd half.
  • DEFENSIVE BACK: Lawrence AustinGeorgia Tech
    • STATS: 3 tackles, 2 INTs, 1 Forced Fumble
    • ANALYSIS: Austin caused 3 of the Yellow Jackets’ 4 turnovers, 2 in the form of an interception and 1 in the form of a forced-fumble. Austin was the spark on defense that helped fuel Georgia Tech’s 30-20 upset victory over #18 Virginia Tech
