The Brooklyn Nets made a ton of moves this offseason. From trading away players such as Timofey Mozgov and Jeremy Lin to adding new players like Shabazz Napier and Ed Davis. Here is a look at the Brooklyn Nets 2018-2019 offseason.

The Nets acquired Kenneth Faried via trade with the Denver Nuggets that also got the Nets Darrell Arthur and a 2019 first round pick in exchange for Isaiah Whitehead. The Nets used Arthur to trade for Jared Dudley from the Phoenix Suns.

In the 2018 NBA draft, the Nets picked Dzanan Musa with pick No. 29 and then they drafted Rodion Kurucs with pick No. 40.

In freeagency, the Nets picked up Davis, Napier and Treveon Graham in free agency.

We already touched on Whitehead being shipped to Denver. In other trades, the Nets shipped out Lin, a 2025 second-round draft pick and the right to swap 2023 second-round picks to the Atlanta Hawks for the draft rights to guard Isaia Cordinier and a protected 2020 second-round draft pick.

Mozgov was traded to the Charlotte Hornets in exchange for Dwight Howard, who was then cut by the Nets.

Dante Cunningham, Nik Stauskas and Jahlil Okafor were free agents who have signed elsewhere.

Overall Look

The Nets had a pretty good offseason, to say the least. For starters, the team traded away Mozgov’s contract in return for Howard and then they bought him out. This saved them around $62 million in cap space next year. With this, they have enough to sign a player next year like Kemba Walker or Tobias Harris or maybe even Jimmy Butler or Kyrie Irving.

A lot of the players they either signed or traded for this offseason are on cheap deals. Since taking over the job of general manager in 2016, Sean Marks has done a great job. From not having really any assets, Marks took on some bad contracts to now getting some assets and having enough space next year for a max contract.

This offseason is one of the best the Nets had in quite some time and the management should have their heads held up high.
