Ohio State lost out to Alabama on a home grown talent in Caden Clark. Clark is a tight end who graduates in 2020. He is only a 3-star so this is not a big miss for Ohio State, but losing out on Ohio talents is not always the best feeling especially when it is to the Crimson Tide.  Ohio State showed interest in the tight end, but hadn’t made an offer before his commitment. One thing to keep in mind, however, is that Urban Meyer is good at convincing guys to flip and he is especially good at keeping local talent in Ohio. The Archbishop Hoban tight end is 6-5 and 245 pounds. He is ranked No. 6 at his position and is also ranked No. 6 in the state of Ohio. He will be a guy to keep an eye on as he progresses throughout his high school career.

Joshua Perry’s Retirement

Joshua Perry graduated high school in 2012 as a 4-star linebacker who was committed to Ohio State. He became a star at his position with the Buckeyes and was drafted No. 102 overall by the San Diego/Los Angeles Chargers in the 2016 NFL Draft. Perry recently called it quits from football after suffering his sixth concussion. He is only 24 years old and is another player who adds to the conversation of the dangers of football.

NFL Career

Perry played in 15 games as a rookie and that made up the majority of his career as he battled head injuries and was eventually cut by the Chargers. He was then picked up by Indianapolis, but he was unable to stay healthy hence his recent retirement.

Off the Field Endeavors

Perry is heavily involved in finding a cure for Autism in his off time because of the struggles his brother has faced with the disorder. He will continue to work to raise awareness for Autism and will pursue a job in sports media now that he has retired.  Perry recently created the Joshua Perry Family Foundation and will focus heavily on charity in his life after football.
