According to recent reports, PSG have received an offer worth forty-two million Euros for Edison Cavani.
Since playing in Paris, the 29-year-old striker found himself second to PSG’s “King”, Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Now that the Swedish striker has moved to Old Trafford from Parc des Princes, El Matador can fill the vacant starting striker position.
Long before the transfer window opened, rumors have circled regarding Diego Costa’s return to Atlético Madrid. Given the likelihood of the Spaniard’s transfer to go through, Conte needs a new and lethal number 9.
Why would Cavani leave if he’s basically guaranteed PSG’s starting striker position? The Uruguayan striker has expressed his interest to take on new challenges, specifically the Premier League, in the past. Keep in mind Cavani is approaching his final “prime” years and having already won the Ligue 1 and Coupe de France, adding a Premier League Championship to his resume looks all the more tempting.
Unfortunately for Conte, PSG are asking for an offer closer to seventy million Euros. El Matador would surely be a great replacement for Diego Costa should he return to his former club.
