FAC 8 preview:

It’s been a tough road for MMA promotion Fighting Alliance Championship to travel on in advance of this Friday’s FAC 8 (10 p.m. ET, 7 p.m. PT, UFC Fight Pass, following undercard action on Facebook Live at 8 p.m. ET, 5 p.m. PT).

In the run-up to this event, promotion officials have scrambled to reassemble the 12-fight MMA card after multiple fighters were forced to withdraw from the show due to injury, but the event is, once again, all set, as the promotion revealed Tuesday on its Instagram feed.

Highlighting the 12-fight show is a Welterweight nontitle main attraction between Chance Recountre (14-4) and Cliff Wright (12-15), who steps in on short notice as a substitute for Jake Lindsey (14-10) after the latter withdrew because of injury.

Contender Comparison:

Entering the new main event of the evening on Friday, Recountre is the taller man at 6-foot-2, with Wright standing 5-foot-11.

How they got here:

Recountre has posted a 3-2 record in his last five MMA fights and is a veteran of the UFC.

Most recently, he dropped a third-round knockout (right cross followed by ground and pound shots) to Lyman Good during UFC 244 in November of 2019.

This was his final appearance in the UFC before being released from the promotion.

In the other corner, Wright has gone 1-4 in his last five MMA appearances, including a second-round submission (rear-naked choke) at the hands of Jason Knight in March for iKON Fighting Federation.

The Tale of the Tape:

Tapology shows that Recountre owns a three-inch reach advantage (74 inches to 71 inches) over Wright heading into your main event.

Prediction: Chase Recountre by unanimous decision.
