Falcons’ DE Derrick Shelby has been placed on IR with a torn achilles tendon ending his season. Expectations were high after Shelby inked a 4-year deal with the Falcons this offseason, but through the first 6 games, the defensive end has only recorded 8 total tackles. Shelby’s loss adds another injury to an already wounded front seven.

Undrafted free-agent safety Sharrod Neasman will replace Shelby on the active roster after spending the first 6 weeks on the practice squad.
