GAME PREVIEW AND ANALYSIS
With the new year rapidly approaching, the Florida Gators are in a make-or-break month of the season. January 2018 isn’t just the start of the new year, but also the start of conference play for the Gators. Two days before the new year, they host the Vanderbilt Commodores in Gainesville.
👌 days to SEC play
With the Gators dropping from ranked at No. 8 to unranked, they have a lot to play for. With the upcoming conference schedule, the team faces a lot of challenges. One of the biggest challenges they must face is that of momentum.
With the team riding a two-game win streak, they hold an 8-4 record on the season. While they dropped in the rankings ahead of the opening conference game of the season, they hold some positive momentum. Coming off back-to-back wins over JMU and World Incarnate, this is a big month for Florida.
If the Gators are looking to make another appearance in the NCAA Tournament in March, the Madness must come out for Florida. Performers, such as Chris Chiozza, who is averaging 17.5 points-per-game and 5.5 assists in the previous two, will need to step up if the Gators want national championship contention.
With the challenges looming Florida, there is no doubt that the pressure is on like never before. The game takes place on Dec. 30 from the ExaTech Arena at Stephen C. O’Connell Center in Gainesville.
