As we enter the second day the MLB divisional round of the playoffs, all four series will be playing today. The American League began their two series last night. The New York Yankees (-125) took a 1-0 series lead with a 9-3 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays (+105) in Game 1. The Houston Astros (+105) slugged their way to a 10-5 win over the Oakland Athletics (-125) to take a 1-0 lead in the ALDS.
In the National League, the Divisional Series open up today as the Atlanta Braves (-275) open up their series against the Miami Marlins (+230). In the nightcap the Los Angeles Dodgers(-275) will play Game 1 against phenom Fernando Tatis Jr and the San Diego Padres (+230).
As always, Betonline has updated odds on all things MLB Playoffs. Taking a look at their Worlds series odds added some intrigue to these playoffs. There’s a certain underdog that has some value over here at Armchair Media.
World Series Odds
Los Angeles Dodgers +225
New York Yankees +375
Tampa Bay Rays +425
Atlanta Braves +750
San Diego Padres +800
Oakland Athletics +900
Houston Astros +1200
Miami Marlins +1800
The Los Angeles Dodgers open as the favorites to win the World Series, which is well deserved. The Los Angeles Dodgers have been the best team in baseball from Opening Day. The Yankees are sitting with the second best odds overall, and the best odds of teams in the American League. The Yankees seemed to have written there wrongs from the regular season in the Wild Card Round.
The team to keep an eye on is the San Diego Padres. The young fun lightning rod team from California has taken over the hearts of the hundreds of people watching baseball still. They’ve also pissed off the old geezers ruining baseball which makes me love them even more.
The Padres sit at a +800 to win the World Series. If this team can stay hot and shock the Los Angeles Dodgers in the Divisional Round, they’ll have a very winnable path to the World Series Crown.
I love the Padres value here, maybe a little too much.
