Offensive lineman often do not receive the recognition they deserve. Senior offensive guard Dylan Wiesman plays a massive role in Tennessee’s offensive success, yet he is rarely acknowledged as one of the team’s top players.
Wiesman is entering his senior year at Tennessee. He has played in 36 games in his Volunteer career, starting all 13 matchups as a junior last season. Tennessee Averaged 422 total yards and 223 rushing yards, second best in the SEC, behind Weisman and the rest of the O-line.
The Volunteers rushed for 200 or more yards in nine games. It is important for Tennessee to continue its dominance in the run game in 2016. Wiesman is an important part in opening holes for backs Jalen Hurd and Alvin Kamara.
With Joshua Dobbs, Hurd and Kamara all possibly leaving after 2016, Tennessee enters its most important season since Butch Jones arrived on campus in 2013. Dylan Wiesman will be on the front lines keeping the three most important cogs in the Tennessee offense upright. He may not get much press, but Weisman makes our list as the tenth most important Volunteer for 2016.
