It’s been one week since JJ Watt severed ties with the Houston Texans. JJ Watt watch is still alive and well. BetOnline has released odds for where Watt will call home on opening day next season.

While there are numerous possibilities, their are five true destinations that will create intrigue and set the start of NFL Free Agency ablaze.

Cleveland Browns (-120)

The Cleveland Browns seem to be the leader in the clubhouse to win the services of JJ Watt. Cleveland can offer a midwest kid the chance to play close to him. They can also offer Watt the chance to compete against his two brothers twice a year.

The pairing of Myles Garrett and JJ Watt would be absolutely dominant. Giving Garrett a legit edge rusher on the opposite side of him would completely unlock Garrett, who’s already been dominant throughout his career

Green Bay Packers (+500)

A return to Wisconsin for Watt. A marquee acquisition to keep Aaron Rodgers happy. Circumstances align for a match made in heaven between JJ Watt and the Green Bay Packers.

Pittsburgh Steelers (+550)

The Steelers are the most logical fit for Watt.

From a personal perspective, Watts two younger brothers are on the Steelers roster. I’m sure the opportunity to play in the same defense as younger Brother TJ would be alluring to all parties involved. Adding JJ Watt to a front seven that already includes Defensive Player of the Year Runner Up TJ Watt, Stephon Tuitt and Casey Hayward would instantly make the Steelers the best defense in the conference.

New England Patriots (+1600)

The Patriots are an interesting case. They have the most cap space of the teams listed, but did the rest of Bill Belichick’s allure leave out the door when Tom Brady won his seventh Lombardi without him.

Watt’s fit in New England is a perfect match from a football standpoint. JJ Watt’s Skillset is something that Bill Belichick would absolutely take advantage of.

The problem is there are other factors in involved other than the fit in the defensive scheme. Watt is fresh off of detracting from a Jack Easterby created train wreck in Houston. Who created Jack Easterby you ask? Bill Belichick.

I can’t see JJ Watt having any desire to play for the front office that created the man that drove him out of Houston.

If he can look past the Easterby ties, and Belichick can convince him that massive improvements are coming to the offense. The Patriots and JJ Watt would a match made in heaven.

Los Angeles Rams (+1600)

This is the biggest long shot of all the teams listed. The Rams have no cap space to offer Watt anything significant. Los Angeles is really on this list so we can all imagine Aaron Donald and JJ Watt on the same defensive line. Scary, right?
