With a long road trip ending at 3-3, the Orlando Magic were looking to head back home to protect their home court against Denver Nuggets and Indiana Pacers; however, the Magic were unable to keep up against the Nuggets’ Jamal Murray and the Pacers’ Bojan Bogdanović.
After that, the Magic prepped for a short road trip with Dallas Mavericks. The Magic then begin a three-game home stand starting with the Chicago Bulls, then the Utah Jazz and finally the San Antonio Spurs.
During Sunday’s practice, players updated the media with news on how the team has been doing, these past days.
Rookie, Mo Bamba talked about areas he’s looking to improve on in order to be more competitive offensively.
“Just attacking. Just being aggressive and utilizing my length”, said Bamba.
Bamba also spoke about how he hasn’t reached any fatigue during the 82-game season, which is very impressive.
“Honestly, I feel pretty fresh. I think coach [Clifford] and our medical staff and everyone’s been doing a pretty good job of just staying on top of things,” Bamba said. “I’m curious to see where I’ll be, like 20 games from now. It’s a lot of games.”
When the media spoke to head coach Steve Clifford, he was asked about whether Vucevic was able to play against the Mavericks, following a sprained ankle during their home game against the Pacers.
“I mean, it’s always how they feel after. But I think he feels comfortable that he’ll be able to play”, Clifford said.
The Mavericks torched the Magic with a 101-76 loss. Vucevic struggled with just eight points with 16 rebounds on just 4-of-15 shooting. Nowitzki didn’t play but Jalen Brunson started and scored 17 points on 7-of-9 shooting. Harrison Barnes had 19, and Dwight Powell had 16 off the bench.
Orlando starts its home stand on Thursday with the Bulls at 9:30 p.m.
