The Orlando Magic have beaten the Cleveland Cavaliers, 120 – 91 in a recent home game.

What makes this win notable is the fact that they were able to snap a losing streak that has followed them during their previous away trip; now to mention that, the Magic will be hosting five home games until March 26, against their in-state rival, the Miami Heat.

Team leaders of the game are: forward Aaron Gordon, who contributed 21-points; DJ Augustin with seven assists; and big man Nikola Vucevic, nabbing 11 rebounds.

One notable thing about this game was how the team leaders for the Magic have all scored close to the 20-point range, with Gordon scoring 21 points, Augustin scoring 20 points and Vucevic scoring 19 points.

Another positive thing to point out would be backup big man Khem Birch getting a double-double this past game. Birch made 13-points while also getting 11 rebounds.

Looking at the big picture on whether the Magic can make the playoffs, if one were to look at the Eastern Conference standings, the Magic are only 9th seed and just a few games away from reclaiming the 8th seed spot from the Miami Heat.

The only way for the Magic to reenter the playoff picture is for them to continue doing well, that means not playing to the same level as teams that are tanking.

Many fans feel that while the Magic are able to compete with those that are locked in for the playoffs, the fact that the team loses to those that are tanking is questionable.

The Magic’s next home game will be against the Atlanta Hawks, this Sunday at 6 p.m.

My name is Jonathan David and I am from a small town called Green Cove Springs, located in northeast Florida. Originally from Miami, Florida, my family moved up north, as I was entering the fourth grade. Once we moved, I eventually started getting into sports a lot more. I did soccer, basketball and running and pole-vaulting; however, the main sport that I pretty much keep up with is, basketball, specifically the NBA. Although I’ll occasionally watch track and field if it’s on ESPN. There were many reasons why I got into basketball, besides it looking like fun, one reason was because I wanted to be like Bugs Bunny from Space Jam, not Michael Jordan, but Bugs Bunny, and while my dream of being an animated character hasn’t panned out, I still enjoy playing and watching the sport. My favorite NBA team is the Orlando Magic, and I’ve been a fan since Lebron was in Miami, so when they eventually get good, people can’t say I’m a bandwagon fan.
