The Mariners have acquired RP Drew Storen from the Blue Jays in exchange for RP Joaquín Benoit and cash considerations, Ryan Divish reports. Clubs have not yet confirmed.

Storen was a rising star in with the Nationals from 2010 to 2015, establishing himself as the closer. However, following a collapse in the playoffs and other incidents, Storen lost the closer position to Jonathan Papelbon, suffered a memorable meltdown at the hands of Yoenis Cespedes last year, and was traded to the Blue Jays in exchange for Ben Revere. Storen has struggled mightily with the Jays this year, posting a 6.21 ERA before being designated for assignment this past Sunday.

Benoit, a veteran RP, has also struggled this season, posting a 5.18 ERA in 24.1 IP. Benoit began his career as a starter for the Rangers, but found greater success in the bullpen with teams like the Padres, Rays, and Tigers. Benoit has posted a career 3.87 ERA, 1.236 WHIP, and has struck out 988 batters in his 15 year career.
