A pair of top prospects for the class of 2019 cut their list of schools down as both targets included Michigan State among their final schools.
One of the top prospects in the state of Michigan, 4-star RB/ATH Jaren Mangham (Detroit, Mich.), cut his list from 16 to nine schools.
The Cass Tech star has long been connected to the Spartans and it was no surprise that Mangham included Michigan State in his final list of schools. According to his tweet, it looks like we may see a commitment sooner rather than later. Mangham is the No. 9 ranked prospect in Michigan and No. 29 overall athlete in 247’s composite rankings. He would be the first running back for Mark Dantonio’s 2019 class at a position that will need depth.
Another position that the Spartans are looking for more depth is the defensive line. 4-star DT Jowon Briggs (Cincinnati, Ohio) cut his list of schools down to ten. The list includes the likes of Michigan State, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Alabama, Penn State and Tennessee. Briggs recently made an unofficial visit to campus on June 16 and a few days later released his top ten schools. Hopefully, this is a good sign for the Spartans in their recruitment of the 6-2 and 275 pound prospect.
