On Tuesday, Ohio State recruiting added two major commits to their class of 2018. Both in the same hour, Kamryn Babb and Tommy Togiai committed to the Buckeyes.

Kamryn Babb

Kamryn Babb is a four-star wide receiver out of Christian Brothers College in St. Louis, MO. Babb stands at 6-1, 189lb. with a 4.60 40-yard dash. Babb is ranked 65th in the country, and will be a major boost to Ohio State’s “Zone 6”. The young wide receiver brings plenty of speed to the table, but also has considerate size for a wide receiver. Babb received offers from nearly every major name in college football, but his commitment to Ohio State was expected.

Kamryn Babb’s 2018 highlight reel:

Tommy Togiai

The second four-star recruit to commit Tuesday night was defensive tackle Tommy Togiai. Togiai is 6-3, 290lb. out of Highland High School in Pocatello, ID. While Togiai may be a defensive tackle, his tape demonstrates a sight that will terrify opposing quarterbacks for years to come. Togiai possesses the strength to shed any block up front, but then has pursuing speed that is unusual in a defensive tackle. Togiai is ranked in the top 10 at his position, and 126th overall. The other school that was thought to have a significant shot at Togiai were the Washington Huskies. Furthermore, Togiai and Babb will be teammates for the West in the US Army All-American game.

How does this Ohio State recruiting class compare to Michigan?

Let us start by recognizing the fact that Michigan has an excellent recruiting class this year. What you are about to read is not a slam against Michigan, rather a statement of how insane this Ohio State recruiting class is.

Tommy Togiai is the twelfth highest rated recruit in Ohio State’s class of 2018.

Michigan has a top ten recruiting class according to some metrics.

There would be only one player in Michigan’s entire class that would be ranked higher than Tommy Togiai.

Again, all credit to Coach Harbaugh; as he has done an incredible job going out and getting a great class for 2018. However, this shows just how impressive of a class Urban Meyer has built, and why many are toting it as the greatest recruiting class in college football history.
