The NFL Scouting Combine is a great tool to gauge just how athletic a prospect is and to confirm what you’ve seen on tape. More than anything the combine helps you figure out just who you need to put more tape time into. Of course, there will always be combine winners and losers, but tape outweighs everything else. After a few weeks of putting in more work on the top prospects and taking into account how they tested athletically, my big board is beginning to take real shape. Still more work needs to be done and nothing will be finalized until about a week before the 2018 NFL Draft. Thankfully free agency and trades have helped shape the way the draft will potentially play out, meaning mock drafts will be far more helpful going forward. Next week I’ll put out my post-free agency mock draft. Checkout the Armchair NFL Draft podcast, Seven Rounds in Heaven.
