Hey, everybody, this post is going to be a little bit different given the gravity of the current situation in the world at-large.

Because of COVID-19, nearly every major sporting event from organizations that are scheduled to be in-season at the present time have been affected.

For starters, Major League Baseball moved to delay Opening Day even further on Monday afternoon, now pushing back the regular season to the middle of May.

World Wrestling Entertainment is one of the few organizations still soldiering on in spite of the pandemic, as last Friday night’s edition of Friday Night SmackDown and Monday night’s RAW were relocated from Detroit and Pittsburgh, respectively, to the WWE Performance Center in Orlando with empty audiences.

As a sports entertainment fan, I also suspect that to be the way that WWE will progress going forward, with the scheduled WrestleMania on Apr. 5 on pay-per-view likely being called off.

The scheduled NFL Draft will not take place as an event on Apr. 24, 25, and 26.

This wave of adjustments has been far-reaching across the sports and entertainment world and is now beginning to affect the mixed martial arts calendar.

It’s already affected GLORY Kickboxing, as GLORY 76, originally scheduled for next Saturday, Mar. 28, and GLORY 77, originally scheduled for May 30, have each been called off.

Legacy Fighting Alliance, which already canceled LFA 84, scheduled for this Friday, has now also moved to postpone LFA 85 and LFA 86 in April due to the pandemic.

All three postponed LFA events are slated to be rescheduled for later dates.

So, this leads us to adjust what we’re doing here with the MMA section.

Rest assured, we will continue with normal fight card previews and live tweets of cards on Twitter as long as there are events confirmed to be going forward.

As of right now, the next scheduled card on the MMA calendar is this Friday’s Cage Warriors 113 in London. If anything changes on that front, we’ll let you know.

This is, as of now, the only scheduled MMA event this weekend after the UFC moved to cancel the Mar. 20, 27, and Apr. 11 Fight Nights due to the pandemic.

However, to fill the empty gaps left by event cancellations and adjustments, this site will provide filler material to renew the activity of fresh content.

Again, while there may be a hiatus on the sports calendar, take solace in knowing that the hiatus is temporary.

Stay safe and be well, everybody.
