Welcome to week 12 of the SEC weekly preview. After a big week in SEC play last week that saw a major shakeup in the top 25, week 12 is a make-or-break week for some as we head closer to championship and bowl season.

Game of the Week: Texas A&M @ Ole Miss

In this week’s #GOTW, two teams are looking to build momentum after big wins last weekend. Texas A&M is 6-4 and Ole Miss is 6-5. Ole Miss looks to bring the Aggies to a .500 record after a 50-22 victory over ULL. Texas A&M, meanwhile, comes off a big 55-14 win at home over UNM. A&M is looking to win out the final two weeks against SEC opponents, and it starts with Ole Miss this Saturday.

Mercer @ No. 1 Alabama

The kings are back on the throne. After spending the last two weeks at No. 2 on the CFP rankings, the Alabama Crimson Tide once again rule the football world. They look to continue their reign this weekend against the Mercer Bears, who are 5-5 on the season and look to end their season on Saturday with, quite possibly, the biggest upset ever against Alabama.

UL Monroe @ No. 6 Auburn

What. An. Upset. The Auburn Tigers are still riding the high of knocking the Georgia Bulldogs off the No. 1 ranking. In a monumental 40-17 thrashing at home, the Tigers look to continue their momentum against the UL Monroe Warhawks, who are 4-5 on the season. While it will take A LOT to make it happen, the ‘hawks look to go 5-5 in week 12.

No. 16 Mississippi State @ Arkansas

In the CBS portion of the noon game schedule, Mississippi State travels to Arkansas for a showdown with the razorbacks. Miss State is coming off a 31-24 loss to the No. 1 Crimson Tide at home. They look to shake off the cob webs against the Razorbacks, who are coming off a 33-10 road loss at LSU last week. Arkansas looks to win out the rest of the season and avoid going 1-6 against Mississippi State.

Kentucky @ No. 7 Georgia

Vengeance. That is what Saturday is about for the Georgia Bulldogs. After sitting at No. 1 for two weeks, they lost to Auburn big and dropped six spots in the rankings. Kentucky is traveling to Athens after a 44-21 victory last week against Vanderbilt, but they face an angry Georgia team that is fuming from their upset loss last week.

Wofford @ South Carolina

The South Carolina Gamecocks are riding high after a 28-20 victory at home last Saturday against the Florida Gators. Looking to capitalize on their momentum, they host the Wofford Terriers, who come off a 45-14 victory over VMI. With the Terriers sitting at 9-1 overall, they travel to Columbia hoping for a 10th victory this season against the Gamecocks.

UAB @ Florida

Bowl eligibility is out of the question for Florida. The Gators are two weeks away from the end of the 2017 season, and the only thing left to play for at this juncture is pride. For the first time since Oct. 14, the Gators play host at The Swamp. They welcome in the UAB Blazers, who sit at 7-3 after a 24-19 victory over UTSA. They look for win No. 8 against a Florida team at its most vulnerable in recent years.

No. 20 LSU @ Tennessee

The Butch Jones era at Tennessee is officially over. After getting his walking papers over the weekend, the Volunteers are looking to salvage whatever they can from this season, while also looking for a victory in the SEC. They sit at 4-6 on the season, and 0-6 in conference play, against a No. 20-ranked LSU team coming off a 33-10 victory over Arkansas. Does this new era mean the Vols finally get an SEC victory this season and go to 5-6?

Missouri @ Vanderbilt

Rounding out week 12 action is a Music City melee featuring the Tigers traveling to Vandy against the Commodores. Tied for last in the SEC East with Tennessee, Vanderbilt is also looking for their first SEC victory this season. Coming off a 44-21 loss to Kentucky, they host Missouri, who demolished Tennessee 50-14 and made Butch Jones leave town.
