It’s the biggest WWE live event ever in Australia! WWE Super Show-Down will be headlined by Triple H going one-on-one with The Undertaker for the #LastTimeEver. You can watch WWE Super Show-Down live on the WWE Network at 5am ET/2am PT.
“No respect for Detlef Schrempf!”
This past week on RAW, Elias and Kevin Owens made themselves public enemy #1 in the city of Seattle. Early on in their promo segment, the attacked the Seattle SuperSonics, or, well, the lack thereof. The result? Nuclear heat that we haven’t seen on WWE programming since the infamous “This is my yard now.” promo by Roman Reigns after defeating The Undertaker at WrestleMania 33.
Elias and Owens will be taking on Bobby Lashley and the returning John Cena, whom we haven’t seen since the Greatest Royal Rumble event in April.
PREDICTION: I love the duo of Elias and Owens, but I don’t see a realistic route to victory for them, at least from a booking standpoint. A returning Big Match John teaming with now Lio Rush-managed Bobby Lashley should get the win.
An Iconic Homecoming
The team of Billie Kay and Peyton Royce return to their homeland as they take on Asuka and Naomi. This surface-level feud has been dragged out as far as it can go and it appears that it will finally be coming to a graceful end this Saturday.
PREDICTION: WWE Superstars have a track record of losing in their hometown, and I’m predicting that this match will follow suit. Plus, I doubt Asuka allows another loss to her name.
Becky Lynch (c) vs. Charlotte Flair
The SmackDown Women’s Championship is on the line, as Becky Lynch will attempt to prove herself and earn respect by defeating Charlotte Flair once again.
PREDICTION: I think Becky retains. Her championship reign so far has been awesome. She hasn’t lost any of that edge that she had at the time of her heel turn, and I think that edge and fire will carry her to victory.
The New Day (c) vs. The Bar
The Bar has gotten the best of The New Day lately on SmackDown Live. Sheamus and Cesaro have won both of their singles matches that they’ve had against members of The New Day, and they even humiliated New Day mascot, Mr. Bootyworth.
This match will be for the SmackDown Live Tag Team Championships.
PREDICTION: The New Day pick up the win and retain their titles.
Cedric Alexander (c) vs. Buddy Murphy
Cedric Alexander will go one-on-one with Buddy Murphy for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship in a match that is sure to be electric.
PREDICTION: Cedric Alexander retains.
Daniel Bryan vs. The Miz
This match will probably be the blowoff match for this feud, at least temporarily, as the winner will move on to focus on pursuing the WWE Championship.
I’d like to see this feud continue down the line, maybe even with the WWE Championship involved. There’s too much depth and history between these two for this feud to come to an end now, in this fashion.
PREDICTION: I really want to go with Miz here, but he’s won the last two matches between him and Bryan. Furthermore, this match is in Australia, and in big, foreign live events, the faces tend to go over. I’m going with Bryan here, even though I particularly haven’t been interested in him as of late.
The Shield vs. Braun Strowman, Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre
RAW has revolved around this feud lately, and these six men will finally come to blows.. Dean Ambrose has been acting very sketchy lately, leading many to believe he’s planning to eventually turn on The Shield. We’ll see if that comes into play this Saturday.
PREDICTION: The Shield pick up the win.
AJ Styles (c) vs. Samoa Joe
I don’t know if this rivalry can get any more personal. Samoa Joe blew off SmackDown two weeks to go to AJ’s house and meet AJ’s family.
This match will be a no-disqualification match for the WWE Championship.
PREDICTION: AJ Styles picks up the win, setting up a Styles/Bryan WWE Championship match at WWE Crown Jewel.
The Bella Twins and Ronda Rousey vs. The Riott Squad
Brie Bella has found herself in a lot of controversy lately, which I recapped here. All the backlash on social media prompted Brie’s husband Daniel Bryan to take to Instagram to plead with fans to stop cyberbullying.
Ronda Rousey has yet to lose in any match she’s involved in, and I doubt she takes an L here.
PREDICTION: Rousey and The Bella Twins win.
In the very last time, these two will ever face one-on-one, Triple H will wrestle The Undertaker one more time. Undertaker’s brother in destruction, Kane, will be in The Phenom’s corner. Shawn Michaels, Triple H’s best friend, will be in The Cerebral Assassin’s corner. This match, despite featuring two guys well on up there in age, is sure to be something special.
PREDICTION: Triple H hasn’t had much if any, success whenever he gets in the ring as of late. Undertaker is on a two-match winning streak, and from a booking perspective, there’s no way he should lose. Especially considering it’s going to likely main event a huge live event in a foreign country.
In another prediction, I don’t think this will be Undertaker’s last match… this year. In Undertaker’s promo with Shawn Michaels a few weeks ago on RAW, he accused HBK of being scared of another match. Shawn seemed to take offense to the statement, and we were left teased that Shawn Michaels might not be done in the ring after all.
I think Kane and Shawn get involved in the match at Super Show-Down, setting up a tag team match at the next pay-per-view, WWE Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia. It would be a big-draw match, and the folks over in Saudi Arabia are allegedly very fond of WWE’s nostalgic heroes.
DX vs. The Brothers of Destruction… in 2018. In Saudi Arabia. Book it Vince.
