It’s been almost a year since UFC Fight Pass first welcomed live events from Michigan-based Warrior Xtreme Cagefighting to its streaming portfolio.

With the exception of last March, June, and December, WXC would hold its monthly Warrior Wednesday events on the final Wednesday evening of the month.

The scheduled Warrior Wednesday event in March of 2019 was canceled and rescheduled to April after multiple pairings on the original Warrior Wednesday 2 card were called off.

It was the first time in WXC promotional history that it had moved to postpone a scheduled event.

There was no Warrior Wednesday show scheduled for June of 2019 and the promotion instead scheduled two Warrior Wednesdays in July to bookend that month.

Finally, due to Christmas falling on a Wednesday last year, the promotion instead held the December Warrior Wednesday on Dec. 18.

This past week marked the 11th Warrior Wednesday, an event highlighted by a Heavyweight main attraction between Josh Parisian and Marcus Maulding, won by Parisian (first-round TKO).

During the main card broadcast on UFC Fight Pass, it was announced that WXC’s subsequent live events on the subscription-based streaming network will now be held on weekend evenings.

WXC will return to Fight Pass with WXC 87 on Good Friday, Apr. 10, live from its homebase of Crystal Gardens in Southgate, MI, near Detroit.

A time for the event has yet to be revealed—and neither have any fights—but rest assured that we at Armchair will be on the case to break down this event as it draws closer.

WXC was successful on Wednesday nights because, as far as mixed martial arts were concerned, Warrior Wednesday was the only game in town on the evening.

The promotion was as successful on Wednesdays as All Elite Wrestling is on cable’s TNT.

WXC’s product is also very strong and it’s a valuable asset to Fight Pass’ live events portfolio.

These are all reasons why the promotion is moving to weekends beginning in the springtime.

On behalf of all of us at Armchair, a hearty congratulations to everybody associated with WXC.
